Shiatsu

Shiatsu works by balancing the energetics of the body by gentle pressure and manipulation along the Meridians. When the energy know in traditional Chinese medicine as Qi is moving smoothly through muscles, bones, skin, tissues and in Meridians, it gives us a feeling of being well..
At times, this flow of Qi can become out of balance due to trauma, stress, deficiency or excess. The quality of touch in a Shiatsu treatment helps to rebalance and regulate the flow of Qi and supports the client's own self-healing process. It is a holistic therapy able to address the mind, emotions and spirit through physical touch.

Shiatsu is a non-invasive bodywork therapy, which works on all the different energetic levels of your body: physical, emotional & spiritual.  It combines acupressure, meridian pressure, stretching, rotation and vibration. It is similar to Acupuncture in that it uses Meridians (energy pathways), acupuncture points and touch diagnosis but without the use of needles. It can help in a wide range of conditions - from specific injuries to more general symptoms of poor health.

Zen Shiatsu
This is the most popular type of Shiatsu that works towards harmonizing meridians that are Kyo (empty) or Jitsu (full). It is characterized by a very centred and grounded two handed technique, that works meridians but not acupuncture points

Barefoot Shiatsu
This is a more dynamic form of shiatsu where the practioner uses mostly their feet in the treatment it also includes quite powerful stretches and can be effective for physical realignment of the body.

Seiki
The literal translation of Seiki is 'treatment of life energy.'  Internal resonance (life energy) can be felt and enhanced by following a pattern of movement within the body, allowing space and time to release stagnant energy, bringing with it the potential to attain a deep sense of health and well-being. The movement we feel is the healing that we need.
The practitioner doesn't 'treat' the client, he only acts as a 'mirror' so the client can recognise how to heal 'self.' Because Seiki works from the inside out, to a certain extent, it can help all types of ailments. At times, the level of an ailment will reflect what is experienced, during and/or after a treatment. But if 'basic trust' is applied, Seiki can be the easiest, simplest thing in the world – but with it comes great insight.
